The Philadelphia Eagles led the New England Patriots 22-12 at half-time in theSuperBowlhere Sunday.
The Eagles raced into an early lead after a first-quarter touchdown from wide receiver Alshon Jeffery followed by a second-quarter effort from former Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount.
The Patriots struggled to generate early momentum, being forced to settle for two Stephen Gostkowski field goals to leave the Eagles 15-6 ahead.
However, the Patriots hit back when running back James White raced in for a touchdown to make it 15-12.
Gostkowski, who had also missed an earlier field goal attempt, missed the extra point.
The Eagles extended their lead with less than two minutes to go with a clever trick play near the Patriots line, tight end Trey Burton picking quarterback Nick Foles out in the end zone to make it 22-12.
