Match 25 of the ongoing IPL 2024 edition will see two struggling sides in Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lock horns with each other at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday evening (April 11). MI will host the RCB franchise in what is expected to be a thrilling contest as both teams are in the bottom half of the points table. While MI occupy the eighth spot, RCB are a spot below them.
Talking about the MI camp, the Hardik Pandya-led five-time winners started off with three successive defeats before beating Delhi Capitals (DC), at home, by 29 runs in a high-scoring affair. On the other hand, RCB have now lost three games in a row since their win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25. Thus, both teams are desperate to get two points in their kitty.
In head-to-head, MI lead RCB 18-14, however, it is the latter who has dominated this rivalry since 2020; leading 5-2. Nonetheless, MI lead RCB 7-3 at the Wankhede stadium.
Match preview and result prediction: With high-profile and big-hitting batters at both ends, expect a high-scoring thriller with a lot of sixes being hit. However, dew will be a huge factor. Thus, the chasing side will have the edge. At this point, MI will enter as slight favourites as they are very good chasers and also have the home advantage.
