
Virat Kohli-led Bangalore defeated Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai at Chinnaswamy stadium on Tuesday. Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl to take the advantage of the dry pitch but the poor fate prevailed and following this defeat, Mumbai's way to the playoffs are now difficult.
On the other hand, Bangalore team put up a target of 168 runs and outplayed Mumbai to defend the total successfully.
The openers of Mumbai failed to give the required start to the team and lost their wickets early. The falling of quick wickets had put the pressure on other batsmen as well.
Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan and skipper Rohit Sharma lost their wicket on a duck.
The Pandya brothers tried to salvage the team and scored crucial runs to push the run rate but Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj out bowled Krunal Pandya and Tim Southee took Hardik Pandya's wicket to put the last nail in the coffin.
Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya scored 50 and 23 runs respectively.
