India has won the first T20 International against South Africa at the Wanderers, Johannesburg by 28 runs to take 1-0 series lead in thein the first of the three-match series.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl.

The same old problems haunted the South African side as it suffered from inconsistency, poor fielding, bad shot selection and loose bowling which put them on the back foot in the ODI series.

For South Africa, Reeza Hendricks contributed 70 crucial runs and found a determined ally in Behardien but both of them could not stand the attacking bowlingof Indian bowlers.

Shikhar Dhawan played brilliantly and scored 72 runs to cruise his team to a mammoth score of 203.

Though, Virat got an early lifeline when his catch was dropped but eventually lost his wicket after scoring 26 runs.

Manish Pandey (29) and Hardik Pandya (13) remained unbeaten.
