In yet another protest by the locals of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (Pok), the people are strongly opposing the construction of dams and hydroelectricityprojects in the region.

The leader of the United Kashmir People's National Party,IMir has said that the Pakistan government is diverting the flow of rivers to Islamabad. He added that the Country's government did not even consider the regional government before taking such decisions.

He said " Pakistan government with the help of other countries has been stopping the flow of the rivers and altering their routes to meet needs of the people of Islamabad. Regional government not even considered while taking such decisions, locals suffer. "

Recently, similar protests were staged by members of Baloch and Sindhi community in London.

They protested against the CPEC citing that the inhabitants alongthe route have not been consulted in the construction of the corridor. Neither have they received any compensation for the exploitation of their land.
