Fadnavis wrote back saying,"It is the victory of people’s faith on your strong leadership & vision of taking development to the last man."

The DNA newspaper reported that the results of 2,974 panchayats out of 3,884 were declared on Monday.

It added that the BJP had won 1,457 of the contests, followed by the Congress (301), the Shiv Sena (222), and the Nationalist Congress Party (194).

The BJP has of late come under severe flak for the slowdown in the economy, and over the farmer loan issue.
