In an incident similar to the Chinese spy balloons which were spotted flying over the United States last year, another strange-looking balloon was spotted by the residents flying in the sky of Denver.
The balloon was spotted flying over the Mile High City as the residents reported it to KDVR, a local news channel, which was the first one to announce the mysterious sighting on Friday (Sep6).
As reported by The Hill, the station located the whitish-clear orb which was found to belong to the space exploration and technology companyWorld View Enterprises and was released by its employee in northern Arizona last Saturday (Aug30).
The balloon was launched by the company to study solar radiation in the stratosphere.

“This is a more sophisticated system that allows us to fly and navigate in the stratosphere for days, weeks and months at a time,” said the vice president of marketing and communications at World View, Phil Wocken, while speaking to the outlet.
The balloon, which was flying at 73,000 feet, more than 30,000 feet above the commercial airspace, has been “carrying a payload for NASA,” said Wocken.
This was one of the Stratollite balloons owned by the company which is similar to a weather balloon. However, it fails to pop when it flies at high altitudes.
The company, however, stated that the technology can be used for measuring different variableslike tracking storm systems, wildfires and greenhouse gases.
On the basis of the trajectory, Wocken said that the balloon was spotted hanging around the Denver metro before the winds carried it southwest.
Some of the residents said that the spotting of the balloon recalled the time when Chinese spy balloons were seen flying across the US in February 2023 to collect intelligence data from American military sites.

However, few others feared it was being used as a vehicle by the aliens, while some failed to buy this extraterrestrial argument.
“The balloon over the north side of the Denver area is not – repeat not – aliens,” wrote Denver meteorologistChris Bianchi on X.
Replying to his post, Colorado podcaster Scott DeHuff said, “Riiiiiggghhhtt". “That’s what they want us to think,”commented Jessica.
However, Jaylen Archuleta said, “Definitely an alien".
