According to a Free Press Journal report, the boy was upset after his uncle scolded him, following which he attacked the vehicles. Allegedly, he also threatened the BEST bus driver and stopped him from driving, the report added. Reportedly, he caused damage worth Rs 70,000 to the bus.

The arrested person, identified as Ziaul Sheikh, a resident of Sulitala Purbapara, the neighbouring village of Jafrabad, has been on the run since the crime took place on April 12.
Sheikh was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police along with the Special Investigating Team (SIT) from his hideout in Chopra in Uttar Dinajpur district on Saturday, he said.
"This person is one of the prime accused who had conspired and instigated a mob to carry out vandalism at the residence of the deceased and killed Haragobindo Das and his son Chandan Das on April 12," the officer told PTI.
The police have all the evidence, CCTV footage, and his mobile phone tower location to prove his presence at the crime spot on April 12, he said.
Earlier, the police had arrested two brothers, Kalu Nadar and Dildar, and Inzmam Ul Haque in connection with their involvement in the killing of the two.
Kalu was arrested from Murarai in Birbhum district, his brother Dildar was held from the Bangladesh border area under the Suti Police Station jurisdiction.
The third accused was apprehended from Suripara, a neighbouring village of Jafrabad.
"We have lodged over 100 FIRs in the Murshidabad violence cases. We have so far arrested 276 people in these cases," the officer added.
At least three people were killed in connection with violence amid recent protests over the amendments to the Waqf Act.

Kumar further said that "Our investigation revealed that he was involved in stone-pelting in Kashmir, and the money he made from this drug trade was being used for stone-pelting."
"There are cases against him in police stations in Maharajganj and Safakhal in Jammu and Kashmir. Fahim revealed that Sajia, a resident of Srinagar who lives in Delhi, has been involved in drug cases since 2005. Her family is also involved in this business," he stated.
The Joint Commissioner noted that four boys were trained to supply drugs, and for each delivery, they were given Rs 50,000 and a new phone. "Sajia's housekeeper, Javed, was handling the retail operations. When Javed's phone was searched, live drug demands were found on it. After this, Javed was arrested," he added.
"A person named Palvinder Singh, from Ludhiana, was arrested. He has several cases related to drugs and theft in Ludhiana. Palvinder, also known as Harry, was in constant touch with drug mafias, and his phone contained several videos related to drugs. With the help of central agencies, it was revealed that drugs were being supplied to India via drones from Pakistan. Salvinder Singh and Gora were responsible for supplying drugs locally after they arrived," Kumar added.
Kumar further said that a person named Sonu revealed that Ravi had beaten him up. "Sonu stated that Ravi and his father came to his house, claimed to be from Lahwinder Landa's group, and beat him up over a money dispute," he said.
"Sonu managed a district, handling local deliveries from Pakistan through drones. Kajan Singh, a former big drug peddler, had grown old. Ravi and his father formed their own gang to take over Kajan's position. Ravi was arrested in 2022 in Punjab in a 302 (murder) case. A total of 10 people have been arrested, and 2 kilograms of heroin were seized from different locations. As per the directions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a top-to-bottom investigation was conducted. Properties worth crores have been traced. Details of this case have been shared with the NIA and NCB, and they have sought further details from the Delhi Police. Eight of the 11 people who died in the horrific incident hailed from the same family. Three women and four children are among the dead.
The rescue teams from Delhi Fire Services, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and local volunteers worked through the night using cranes and thermal cameras. The congested bylanes in the area made it difficult to move in heavy equipment. Sandeep Lamba, Additional DCP, North East District, said, "The incident took place at 3:00 am (IST) in the morning. 14 people were rescued, but four among them succumbed. It was a four-storey building, a rescue operation is underway. 8-10 people are still feared trapped." National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and police teams were present at the scene.&nbsp;

They reached the woman's house who had given birth to the baby and later registered a rape case.
The Times of India reported that the man told the police that the woman asked him to throw away the garbage bag for him. He took it but had no idea that it contained a stillborn baby.

The police went knocking on the woman's door and questioned the woman. She told the police that she was the mother of the baby and sold vegetables for a living. She fell in love with an autorickshaw driver and got pregnant. She managed to hide it from her parents.
In her eighth month, she started experiencing pain in the abdomen and delivered the baby at home with the help of her friend. However, the baby passed away during childbirth.
The TOI report stated that the woman packed the baby in a garbage bag and requested her neighbour to throw it. The man, assuming it to be a mere garbage bag, took it and threw it away.
People in the area saw the bag and found a male baby in it. The Yelahanka Police were alerted and hunted down the man using video surveillance footage. The girl was a minor and the police arrested the autorickshaw driver for raping and impregnating a minor.

Of the 24 students who achieved 100 percentile, Rajasthan produced the highest number with seven toppers, followed by Maharashtra and Telangana (four each), Uttar Pradesh (three), West Bengal (two), and one each from Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

Among the toppers, two are female candidates: Devdutta Majhi from West Bengal and Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh. NTA also announced the category-wise percentile cut-offs for eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced 2025.
For the unreserved (UR) category, candidates needed to score at least 93.10 percentile. The cut-off for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) was 80.38, for OBC-NCL it was 79.43, for Scheduled Castes (SC) it was 61.15, and for Scheduled Tribes (ST) the cut-off stood at 47.90 percentile. For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) in the UR category, the cut-off was 0.0079 percentile.

To ensure fairness and integrity, the NTA implemented stringent security measures, including AI-based video analytics, 5G jammers, live CCTV surveillance, and biometric attendance systems. Despite these precautions, the results of 110 candidates were withheld due to the use of unfair means, while another 23 were held for discrepancies in identity verification.
With the JEE Main results now declared, qualified students will proceed to the JEE Advanced -- the gateway to admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Bollywood film premieres at Srinagar’s lone theatre after four decades

After four days of investigation a Special Investigation Team (SIT) aided by 8 crack teams arrested a man who had allegedly raped a woman in an Intensive Care Unit of a popular hospital in India's Gurugram city in Haryana state. The investigating team scanned through 800 CCTV cameras installed at the hospital before nabbing the accused, Deepak, a resident of village Badhauli in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Friday (April 18).
Other than scanning through the CCTV footages the SIT also questioned hospital staff to get to the 25-year old accused, who was working as a technician at the hospital for the past five months.
The hospital in a statement released on Friday said, "We have been informed that the police have identified a suspect who has been taken into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation concerning allegations of sexual assault on a patient. On the basis of information provided to us by the police, we have suspended the suspect employee."
<h2>Woman raped while on ventilator</h2>
The air hostess, who was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Medanta hospital in Gurugram on April 6 claimed she was sexually assaulted by Deepak while on ventilator support.
The 46-year-old woman said her condition did not allow her to resist the advance and also claimed that two nurses were present in the room when the incident took place.
The woman was admitted to Medanta hospital on April 5, and was put on ventilator due to her poor health condition for more than a week. The alleged assault reportedly took place on April 6.
A case in this regard was registered at the Sadar Police Station on April 14. Following the complaint, the hospital a day later acknowledged the allegation and said it would fully cooperate with the police in the investigations.
