He said that the exit gate was small, only four feet and there were a lot of people. "I was worried about the security of my wife and son. My wife suffered a fracture in her leg," the man said.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We had just left the area when the shooting began,&rdquo; the husband said, his voice trembling. &ldquo;We could hear the firing for a long time.&nbsp;
"Everyone was aiming to get out as quickly as possible. It was chaos," he added.&nbsp;

"My only goal was to get us out of there and to safety. We&rsquo;re now heading back, as the doctor advised her to take complete bed rest,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

The Resistance Front (TRF) is an offshoot of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The group reportedly came into being after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) banned TRF, all its forms and front groups in January 2023. The MHA also declared the TRF as a terrorist group under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Its founder is reportedly&nbsp;Sheikh Sajjad Gul also known as Sheikh Sajjad and its leaders include LeT operatives Sajid Jatt and Salim Rehmani. Sajjad Gul was designated as a terrorist by the Indian government in 2022. Gul was also involved in hatching a criminal conspiracy to eliminate journalist Shujaat Bukhari along with two of his personal security officers, at the Press Enclave area of Srinagar on June 14, 2018.
The group came to the fore when J&amp;K Police busted a unit of over ground workers (OGWs) in Sopore and Kupwara. In the past, the group has issued threats to media houses in the Valley for &ldquo;traitorous acts.&rdquo; Ahead of the Pahalgam terror attack, this group claimed responsibility for the Z-Morh Tunnel attack in Ganderbal on October 20, 2024.&nbsp;

&ldquo;TRF is recruiting youth through online medium for furtherance of terrorist activities and has been also involved in carrying out propaganda on terror activities, recruitment of terrorists, infiltration of terrorists and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from Pakistan into J&amp;K. TRF is involved in psychological operations on social media platforms for inciting people of J&amp;K to join terrorist outfits against the Indian state,&rdquo; the MHA notification stated about TRF.
The MHA notification also added that &ldquo;the activities of TRF are detrimental for the national security and sovereignty of India. Speaking at a Delhi University event on Tuesday, Dhankhar said that the &ldquo;Parliament (i.e., the legislative) is supreme&rdquo; and that &ldquo;elected representatives (i.e., the Members of Parliament) are the ultimate masters of what the Constitution will be... there cannot be any authority above them&rdquo;.

UPSC CSE Results 2024: Women have excelled in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 results announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday and bagged three positions in the top five. Shakti Dubey emerged as the topper of the UPSC CSE 2024, followed by Harshita Goyal in second place and Dongre Archit Parag in third.
The top 25 rank holders include 11 women and 14 men. Their educational qualifications range from graduation in engineering, humanities, science, commerce, medical science, and architecture from premier institutions of the country.
In total, 1,009 candidates have been selected for appointment to various revered services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Group &lsquo;A&rsquo; and Group &lsquo;B&rsquo; Central Services, across multiple categories.
UPSC 2024 topper Shakti Dubey has done her graduation (Bachelor of Science) in Biochemistry from the University of Allahabad. She chose political science and international relations as her optional subject for the examination, a statement issued by the commission said.

The civil services examination is conducted annually in three stages &ndash; preliminary, main and interview &ndash; by the UPSC to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
The civil services preliminary examination, 2024, was conducted on June 16 last year. A total of 9,92,599 candidates applied but only 5,83,213 actually appeared in the exam.

A total of 14,627 candidates qualified for the main examination, which was held in September 2024. Out of these, 2,845 candidates qualified for the personality test or interview.
The recommended candidates also include 45 persons with benchmark disability, comprising 12 orthopedically handicapped, eight visually challenged, 16 hearing impaired, and nine with multiple disabilities.
The selection of 241 recommended candidates is currently provisional, while the result of one candidate has been withheld.
Category-wise, the number of successful candidates is as follows: 335 from the General category, 318 from the OBC category, and 87 from the SC category.

J&K: Firing in Baisaran Pahalgam, sources say seven tourists injured

A video of an Indian Air Force officer narrating his alleged ordeal with who he claimed were unruly people in Bengaluru emerged on Monday (Apr 21). He said he was abused in Kannada, and then it turned violent from there on. 'God gave me the power not to retaliate,' he said as he recorded a video of himself and his wife in a car.&nbsp;The officer was seen bleeding in the video. Now, in a twist of events, CCTV footage has emerged.
The officer has been booked&nbsp;under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 304 (snatching for theft), 324 (crime of mischief), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with an intent to provoke breach of peace), for further investigation.
In the CCTV footage, Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose was seen thrashing the biker. His wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita Dutta, was also seen trying to stop his aggression.
The police has taken the matter into cognisance, and as per news agency PTI, Deputy Commissioner Devaraj D said, "This is a case of road rage. An altercation took place between them&mdash; both attacked each other. The accused has been taken into custody. Around 6 am today, the Air Force officer was heading from his DRDO quarters to Kempegowda International Airport. His wife was driving, and he was seated beside her. An altercation broke out between the couple and a bike rider."

But if you drink Patanjali rose sherbet, gurukuls and Patanjali university will be built. Like love jihad and vote jihad, a sherbet jihad is also on," he said without naming the brand Hamdard.
His comments drew widespread criticism for their communal tone, with Hamdard accusing him of attempting to create "communal divide" and damaging their product's reputation.

"This will be my third visit to Saudi Arabia over the past decade and a first one to the historic city of Jeddah. I look forward to participating in the second Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council and build upon the highly successful State visit of my brother His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman to India in 2023," the Prime Minister said.
"I am also eager to connect with the vibrant Indian community in Saudi Arabia that continues to serve as the living bridge between our nations and making immense contribution to strengthening the cultural and human ties," he said.&nbsp;

US Vice President JD Vance, on Tuesday (Apr 22), embarked on a cultural visit to Jaipur along with Second Lady Usha Vance and their children.
This morning, the family reached Amber Fort from Rambagh Palace, where they are staying. &nbsp;
They received a vibrant welcome at the fort and were greeted with a traditional Rajasthani dance performance and elegantly decorated elephants, Chanda and Pushpa.

<h2>US Vice President JD Vance visits Akshardham Temple with family</h2>
The Vance family visited the Akshardham Temple in Delhi shortly after arriving in the national capital on Monday (Apr 21).
Akshardham temple spokesperson, Radhika Shukla, said that the US Vice President spent 55 minutes exploring the temple and appreciated the intricate carvings. He then offered prayers for world peace.
"The whole family was here for around 55 minutes. Their experience of one hour inside was unforgettable. After the welcome, they started with the Charanarvind of Lord Swaminarayan. Moving ahead, they visited Bharat Upvan. They liked the garden very much. Going further, they visited Gajendra Peeth. They were very overwhelmed by the carvings. Then they went upstairs and, after having a darshan of the idol of Lord Swaminarayan in the sanctum sanctorum, they prayed for world peace," Shukla said.
Ahead of their visit, the Akshardham Temple spokesperson said, "The Vice President and the Second Lady are coming for the Darshan at Akshardham Temple. She has Indian roots... They are coming here directly from the airport... They will first have the darshan of the replica of Lord Swaminarayan and then they will see the architecture of the temple..."
Vance, on Monday (Apr 21), arrived in Delhi for his first official visit to India.
Upon his arrival at the Palam airport, he received a ceremonial Guard of Honour.

Zeeshan Siddique, who is the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Baba Siddique's son, has received a death threat via email, said police officials on Monday.&nbsp;
The police said that the threat email mentioned that Zeeshan would be killed the 'same way' as his father. The sender also demanded $1.17 million (Rs 10 crores) from him. The sender further said that he would send such emails every six hours.

While speaking to the news agency ANI, Siddique claimed that the death threat email he received was sent from D company, and they have demanded the ransom amount.&nbsp;
"I got a threat via mail from D company, as mentioned at the end of the mail, they demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore. The police have taken the details and recorded the statement. Our family is disturbed because of this," said the NCP leader to ANI on receiving a death threat.&nbsp;

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the murder. A few days after the incident, the Mumbai Police took two individuals into custody initially, identified as Gurmail Baljit Singh and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap.

Further investigations by Mumbai Police revealed that the prime suspect, Akashdeep Gill, arrested in Punjab, used a labourer's mobile hotspot to communicate with key conspirators, including mastermind Anmol Bishnoi.&nbsp;
Gill was identified as the logistics coordinator in the murder plot orchestrated by notorious gangster Anmol Bishnoi.&nbsp;
