The hoarding collapse crushed three vehicles
In what came as a striking reminder of Mumbaihoarding collapse horror, another hoarding came crashingdown inMaharashtra's Thane district Friday morning (Aug 2). At least three vehicles were crushed in the accident, with no reports of injuries so far. The hoarding collapsed at around 10:30 am IST atSahajanand Chowk in the Dombivili area.
A video of the incident has now gone viral on the internet.
The exact size of the hoarding was not known yet. As per local authorities, it came down because of heavy rains and gusty winds.
After the incident, Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation commissioner Indurani Jakhad went to the site and vowed that strict action was taken against the contractor for not adhering to the safety standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Jakhad also said a police complaint was being filed against the contractor, and he will be made to compensate the victims who got their vehicles damaged in the incident.

Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation also saidall hoardings in the area will be reviewed and checked so that a similar incident never happens again.
The incident came as a reminder of thedeadly120x120 feet hoarding collapse in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar on May 13, in which 17 people lost their lives and 74 sustained injuries.
After that, another hoarding collapsed on May 18 in the Loni Kalbhor area on the Pune-Solapur Highway, under which a horse and a band of a wedding procession were crushed. The horse sustainedsevere injuries whereas the band vehicle was also seriously damaged.
