Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) newly appointed working president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday said that he will work to strengthen the party as its worker.

Nadda also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for showing faith in him.

Nadda tweeted, ''Respected Prime Minister' gratitude to the conscience of the heart. Under your guidance, we will take the party's policies and government plans to the last man. Your personality and leadership have given the party public support, I will try to strengthen it as an activist.''

Nadda also tweeted out to Amit Shah saying, ''Respected Chairman, Mr Mr You @amitshah and the party have expressed my faith in me. The way you have elevated the party to new heights is exemplary. This is how I will continue to serve the party. Thank you again.''

Former Union minister was appointed as BJP's working president during the party's parliamentary board meeting on Monday.

The decision by BJP's highest decision-making body was announced by former party president and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh after the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.

Amit Shah will continue to be BJP's national president.
