Areport by Deccan Herald said some relatives suggested that the weddings should go ahead as planned without the participation of Iqbal, but the man insisted on attending the events.

On not beingallowed by doctors to be discharged from the hospital, Iqbal then requested the Era Medical College and Hospital authorities to allow his daughters to marry inside the ICU. The permission was given after much deliberation.

Iqbal's first daughter got married inside the ICU on Thursday, while the second daughter got married a day later, the report said.
