The UP government has given a Mathura farmer a 1 paisa loan waiver on a loan of Rs 1,55,000.
The farmer said the "government has played (a) cruel joke" on him.
And has asked for the entire loan amount to be waived.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister had announced waivers on loans taken by famers when he came to power this year.
The loan waivers were an election promise.
There have been earlier instances too of farmers getting tiny waivers on large farm loans taken by them.
