Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday tweeted that she had received the details of the attack on Indian students in Milan and requested everyone not to panic.

The external affair minister said that she was personally ''monitoring the situation''.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Indian consulate in Milan, said that it had received reports of unfortunate incidents of attacks on the Indian students in Milan and urged the Indian students not to panic. The Consulate is taking up the matter with the highest of law and order authorities in Milan. Students are also requested to report such matters to the Consulate on Consul General’s cell 3290884057 immediately, the statement added.

Some Indian students were attacked by beer bottles on October 17. The attackers also reportedly abused the Indians for their skin colour.
