Postmortem report reveals ND Tiwari's son died 'unnatural' death: Police

Three days after Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of former Uttarakhand chief minister ND Tiwari, was "brought dead"to a Delhi hospital, postmortem report revealed that hedied of "unnatural" death, police said.

Following the report, Delhi police have registered murder case under section 302 of the IPC (murder case) against unknown persons.

The case has now been transferred to the Crime Branch.

Earlier in the day, Forensic and Crime Branch teams searched his house in Defence Colony to ascertain the cause of his death.

Rohit Tiwari was declared brought dead to the Max hospital in Saket on April 16th.

His mother Ujjala Tiwari had told media persons, "His death is natural, I have no suspicion but I will reveal later what circumstances led to his death."

Rohit used to reside in his Delhi's Defence Colony home, from where he was reportedly brought to the hospital on Tuesday.

Rohit Shekhar Tiwari was the biological son of Congress leader ND Tiwari and Ujjwala Sharma, who Tiwari married in 2014. Tiwari died last year.

Rohitfought a court case to prove himself as the son of late Congress leader ND Tiwari. The veteran politician had accepted Rohit as his son in 2016 after a long legal battle which had even reached the Supreme Court before reconciliation.

In January 2017, Rohit Shekhar had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
