Delhi Metro did it again. Lovingly called the city’s life, Delhi Metro is becoming synonymous with drama and chaos. From viral videos shared over social media platforms, it looks like the city’s Metro has everything - from brawls and fistfights to karaoke and impromptu dance performances. In continuation of the saga, a commuter is seen beating a man who tries to steal a purse.
The video was originally shared on X by an account named ‘Ghar ke Kalesh’, but WION cannot confirm the authenticity of the incident.
In the video, an elderly man can be seen beating the alleged thief mercilessly inside the Metro coach at Kashmere Gate Metro Station. As per the caption, the man was reportedly caught stealing a purse red-handed.

As soon as the man was caught, the elderly passenger started thrashing him in every way possible, while other passengers stood by, recording the spectacle.
Despite the alleged thief’s repeated apologies and desperate pleas for mercy, the furious passenger remained unmoved, and continued thrashing him. The thief, in a bid to earn forgiveness, even tried to sit and catch the elderly man’s feet, crying out, “Uncle ji mar jaunga. Aaj ke baad nahi hoga” (Uncle, I will die. It won’t happen after today). However, the man showed no mercy.
A woman's voice can also be heard as she was recording the video and saying, “Shakal aani chahiye na sab jagah, pata chale kaise chor hai yeh” (His face must be seen so that people know he is a thief) in the background.
The viral incident caught the attention of the online community and soon everyone was on board to present their opinions. While a large section of social media was in favour of the alleged thief’s treatment by the angry passengers, others believe his reaction was a little too much.
The responses from the social media community are quite contrasting. Since it was posted, the video has garnered over 470k views.
