
National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed all concerned to take effective steps to control pollutants in the ambient air quality of NCR-Delhi.
In a statement, NGT has directed ministry of environment, forest and climate change, ministry of transport, NCT Delhi, PCBs and all the concerned state governments in NCR Delhi to fully coordinate and cooperate to control pollutants in the ambient air quality of NCR Delhi and take all effective steps.
NGT also permitted the continuation of Express Highway Project of Eastern Peripheral Expressway with the condition that no dust emission or pollution caused due to the activity.
''The Express Highway Project of Eastern Peripheral Expressway would continue subject to the Senior most officer of the NHAI filing an undertaking that they shall fully ensure that there is no dust emission and that no pollution is caused by their activity,'' it said.
NGT also banned the use, sale, purchase and storage of plastic bags and plastic items like plates and spoons etcetera along river Ganga in Haridwar's Har Ki Pauri, Rishikesh, till upper areas in Uttarkashi.
Fine of Rs.5000 to be imposed on violators.
