Naidu to exact his pound of flesh as TDP puts five key demands before NDA: Reports

Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) impressive performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Bharatiya Janata Party's poor show has put Chandrababu Naidu in the spotlight. His TDP,winning 16 seats in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh,is now National Democratic Alliance's second-largest party, only behind BJP.TDP is looking all set to exact its pound of flesh as it offers support to the NDA alliance and helps BJP materialise its Modi 3.0 ambition. It's important to note that Naidu is currently the hottest entity in Indian politics as rival INDIA bloc too seems to be making friendly overtures to him. So, it would be crucial for NDA to keep Naidu in good humour unless he may very well have all other options available to himself.
As of now, Naidu has stressed he will remain in NDA and even has handed over TDP's Letter Of Support to the BJP.
As per media reports, the TDP has put forward a list of five conditions that Naidu wants to be fulfilled in exchange for his support to the Modi 3.0 administration.

Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh: This is a long-held demand of Naidu and the TDP chief even walked out of the NDA in 2018 over a disagreement over SCS. The status will help the state get preferential treatment from the union government, including more funds, more aid and income tax exemptions.

Revival of Amravati: Naidu is expected to seek more central funds and support for the revival of Amravati as the state capital from the Modi 3.0 government. The project was stalled after he was defeated by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress (YSRCP) in 2019.
Polavaram project: Naidu is also expected to seek support for the long-pending Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh. His TDP had vowed to revive the project in the election campaign.
Several portfolios in central government: Naidu is also expected to seek a fair share in the central governance, with several portfolios being on his demand list. According to reports, TDP has also asked for the speaker's post.
Big opportunity for Naidu's son Nara Lokesh: The Andhra Pradesh leader is also expected to use this opportunity to elevate his son and TDP's general secretary Nara Lokesh to the national stage.
