The three-day session of the eighth Mizoram Assembly was adjourned sine die by Speaker Lalrinliana Sailo on Thursday.

The session, which commenced on Tuesday, witnessed administering of oath to the new legislators, who were elected in the 40-member state Assembly on November 28.

The House elected Lalrinliana Sailo, a four-time legislator as Speaker unopposed on the first day.

Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan delivered his customary gubernatorial address in the Assembly on Wednesday.

The Assembly paid tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former legislator Chawngzuala and sitting legislator S Laldingliana after which Lalrinawma was elected unopposed as deputy speaker on the third and last day of the first session of the eighth Assembly.

The House adopted the motion of thanks on the speech of the governor after which the speaker adjourned the session.
