After the alleged rape and murder of the trainee doctor, Roy reportedly went to the home of his friend Anupam Dutta, a police officer, reported India Today.

During the polygraph test, several of Roy's responses were flagged as misleading, heightening suspicions about his involvement. Additionally, the CBI's psychoanalytic profile of Roy uncovered a severe pornography addiction, with numerous explicit videos discovered on his phone.
