J&K L-G Manoj Sinha calls for strong action against terrorists after grenade blast in Srinagar
In response to a grenade attack in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has urged security forces to deliver a robust counteraction against terrorist groups in the region. During discussions with DGP Nalin Prabhat and senior officials, Sinha emphasised the need for a strong and effective response to punish those responsible for the attack.
The LG asserted that terrorists targeting civilians will face severe consequences. He said, "You have full freedom to crush terror outfits and leave no stone unturned to complete this mission."
Casualties and immediate response
The attack occurred on Sunday(Nov. 3) at a flea market near the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar,injuring at least 11 individuals. Police and paramilitary forces quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate the injured and initiate a search operation to locate the attackers.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the grenade attack, calling it "deeply disturbing." He expressed his concerns on social media platform X, highlighting the recent surge in violence in the valley. He wrote, "The last few days have been dominated by headlines of attacks and encounters in parts of the valley. Today's news of a grenade attack on innocent shoppers at the ‘Sunday market' in Srinagar is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians."
