Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday slammed the Central government stating that it has "already found a way to save people like Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi."
Kharge accused the government of not doing anything with the information they had on the offenders a year back, adding that the accused have now managed to flee the country.
"Govt had already found a way to save people like Nirav Modi&Mehul Choksi. When they had information 1 year ago, they didn’t send any agency for probe&allowed them to escape. With govt & Modi ji’s blessings, they took money from banks&ran away," he stated.

Last month, the Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka criticised the Prime Minister noting that the PM wants to do to India what dictator Adolf Hitler did to Germany.
"The BJP is trying to bring dictatorship in the country. PM Modi wants to do to India what Adolf Hitler did to Germany. The Constitution is in danger and we need to fight the BJP's attempts to destroy it," he claimed.
