Goa Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian parliament) elections in the Indian state of Goa are takingplace during the third phase,which is on May 7.
Goa has two Lok Sabha seats – North Goa and South Goa – and given the small number of seats, elections will be held in a single phase in the state. The results, like the rest of the country, will be announced on June 4.

The Lok Sabha elections in Goa will take place on May 7, during Phase 3 of the general elections.
Goa holds two Lok Sabha seats for North Goa and South Goa. Over the years, the state has seen competition between the two prominent national parties – the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC).
In 2014, the ruling BJP won both the seats in the state. However, in 2019, it won only one, while the other was taken over by the INC candidate.
North Goa is currently being led by BJP’s Shripad Naik and South Goa by Francisco Sardinha (INC). In 2019, BJP’s Pramod Sawant became the chief minister of the state.
Notably, the state has also witnessed a rise in the popularity of regional parties like the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), the Goa Forward Party (GFP), and the Revolutionary Goans Party (RPG).
