Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone set the stage on fire as they performed together after a long time at an event in Mumbai.
The former real-life couple was seen at ease with one another (just as they always do) on the stage as they danced on hit songs of their films together and of individual ones. They grooved on Balam Pichkari from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Matargashti from Tamasha (both starred in the film) -- but the highlight of the event was their dance challenge thrown in by filmmaker Karan Johar.

Karan asked Deepika and Ranbir to perform to Ranveer Singh’s Malhari song from Bajirao Mastani (Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film starring current lovers Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone). Deepika, at first forgot the iconic steps, only to quickly remember and dance on them before Ranbir Kapoor could pick up.

Another act that stole the show Deepika and Ranbir performing on the title track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. They also danced on songs from Dil Chahta Hai.
Ranbir and Deepika have remained cordial ever since they broke up in 2009. They became friends and have even worked in films that went on to become blockbuster hits likeTamasha, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
