Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said that he informed the EC that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going to make an attempt tomorrow again to influence the election and it's the duty of the EC to take steps. ??
After the Election Commission ordered the filing of an FIR against Congress president Rahul Gandhi for giving an interview to a TV channel in Gujarat in violation of the 48-hour ban on campaigning, a Congress delegation met the Election Commission and informed that BJP too violated the model code of conduct a lot of times in the past and just ahead of the first phase of polling in Gujarat.
The Congress delegation met the EC and complained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, FM Arun Jaitley and RM Piyush Goyal have violated Model Code of Conduct several times in the past. PM misused the FICCI platform to attack Congress party, the delegation informed the election commission. They also urged the ''EC should stay unbiased''.

''We informed Election Commission that PM Modi is going to make an attempt tomorrow again to influence the elections. It is EC's duty to take steps. We have also submitted examples and video proofs,'' said Surjewala after meeting EC.

Surjewala said that Modi flashed the BJP symbol on voting day and the party held a press conference just before the first phase of Gujarat election but EC didn't act.
''In 2014 elections, Modi Ji even showed BJP symbol on voting day but EC didn't act. BJP held a PC just before the firstphase of Gujarat election. These double standards won't work. First FIR should be filed against PM Modi and other BJP leaders instead of press,'' Surjewala said.
