Delhi Chief Secretary alleged assault case: Court rejects lawmakers' bail plea

Delhi's Tis Hazari Court on Friday rejected the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal over the alleged assault of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.
Both lawmakers will remain in judicial custody.
Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal were on Thursday sent to judicial custody for 14 days after the Delhi chief secretary filed a complaint stating that he was assaulted by AAP MLAs at Chief Minister's Arvind Kejriwal's residence.
While Prakash Jarwal was arrested from his house at Deoli on February 21 (Wednesday), Amanatullah Khan had surrendered in the national capital's the Jamia Nagar Police Station, stating that he had done nothing wrong. The court had sent them to Tihar for a day and to 14 days’ judicial custody on Thursday. The police, however, had asked the court that the MLAs be handed over to them for further questioning.
The Delhi chief secretary had alleged that he was roughed up by the AAP MLAs during a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence on Monday night.
The Police have filed an FIR on a complaint from Prakash under various sections, including 120B (criminal conspiracy), 186 (obstructing a public servant from performing the duty) and 353 (assault on public servant)
