
A bomb threat was received on a Vistara flight bound for Srinagar with 177 passengers and one infant aboard on Friday (May 31) after which the airline and security forces took swift action.
Flight no-UK-611 departed from India's capital New Delhi and safely landed at Srinagar Airport at nearly 12:10 am (local time).
The airport authorities at Srinagar International Airport received a bomb threat call targeting Vistara flight UK611 which was arriving from Delhi.
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) Srinagar received information about the ‘threatening call’ which led to a swift and co-ordinated response from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The airlines followed the standard protocoldecided for such threats and the aircraft was directed immediately to an isolation bay after landing.

"All passengers were safely de-boarded at the isolation bay. Currently, the aircraft is undergoing a thorough security check by the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all concerned," said an airport official, while speaking to ANI.
As permedia reports, all the passengers deboarded the plane safely and the situation is being managed on priority to ensure the security of the people at the airport.
Speaking about the incident, a Vistara spokesperson said, "We confirm there was a security concern on Vistara flight UK 611 operating from Delhi to Srinagar on 31 May 2024 that was brought to our staff's attention while on board. Following the protocol, we immediately informed the relevant authorities, and the aircraft was taken to the isolation bay after safely landing at the Srinagar International Airport where all customers were disembarked."

"We fully co-operated with the concerned authorities to clear the mandatory security checks. All the necessary checks have been conducted and the aircraft has been cleared to resume operations. At Vistara, safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft is of utmost importance to us," the spokesperson added.
The source of the bomb threat is being investigated by the authorities and all necessary measures are being taken for ensuring the continued safety of air travel.
According to an airport official, the threat was deemed non-credible after which the normal operations resumed.
