A special Air India flight brought 205 people, including six infants, from Dhaka to New Delhi on Wednesday morning, an official said.
The chartered flight, an A321 neo aircraft, departed for Dhaka late Tuesday.
According to an official, “the flight brought back 205 people (199 adults) and six infants from Dhaka. Air India rapidly deployed an aircraft to Dhaka on Tuesday, overcoming airport infrastructure challenges to operate a passenger-less flight."

Air India will be starting its scheduled operations -- two daily flights from Delhi to Dhaka on Wednesday.
However, on Tuesday, Air India had cancelled its morning flight but operated the evening flight to Dhaka. Among other airlines operating from Bangladesh includes Vistara and IndiGo. The flights will be operating as per the scheduled timing.
Earlier, both Vistara and IndiGo had cancelled their Tuesday flights to the Bangladesh capital.
Air India offers one-time rescheduling waiver
On Tuesday, Air India announced to operate its evening flights AI237 and AI238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi route. The company is also offering a one-time waiver for rescheduling flights.
Taking to its social media account, Air India posted on X, “Due to the prevailing situation in Dhaka, Air India is offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling to customers, with confirmed bookings on any Air India flight to and from Dhaka between 4th and 7th August 2024, if they desire to do so.”
