United’smiserable finish to 2023-24 season

As things stand, United will have two opportunities to qualify for the Europa League – a top six finish will see them reach the second-tier competition for Europe. However, if they miss out on a Top Six finish, even a win in the FA Cup final against arch-rivals Manchester City will see them play Europa League football in the 2024-25 season.

CurrentlyUnited are sixth in the standings, one point clear of seventh placed Newcastle and threeclearof Chelsea in eighth place. With a head-to-head match against Newcastle and a key fixture against Arsenal coming, United will need a solid finish to guarantee a top six spot. If Uniteddofinish outside the top four, it will be the sixth occasion they have done so inpost SirAlex Ferguson era under four different permanent managers.
