Days after sparking controversy over her remark on Kriti Sanon's jewellery brand campaign, BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut is back, making new statements. This time, the Queen star appeared to react to Sanon while speaking about Raksha Bandhan celebrations, saying that women are free to wear whatever they want. Days after her controversial remarks on Kriti Sanon’s jewellery-brand outfit buzz, Kangana Ranaut made a shocking statement, saying that women are free to wear whatever they choose on Raksha Bandhan.

Kangana's previous remark about the Cocktail 2 actress and questioning her about her outfit in the Rakhi ad has stirred debate online. Kangana Ranaut takes another swipe at Kriti Sanon On August 26, Kangana Ranaut appeared on Sudhir Chaudhary's prime-time show, DECODE. During the conversation, Sudhir Chaudhary questioned her bikini remark about Kriti Sanon and asked about the broader debate over women's choice of clothing. Ranaut said her comments were not a personal attack on Sanon. Also Read: Kriti Sanon's ad removed after backlash over cultural sentiments She replied, saying, "Jis tarah ki filmon mein hum unhe dekhte hain, unhe kaun rok raha hai kuch pehnne se? Kis ne unhe roka hai, kis ko kya padi hai?" (The way she dresses in her films, who has stopped her from wearing anything she wants? I don't think anybody has anything to do with her choice of outfits) Concluding her remarks, the BJP MP said, "A woman can wear whatever she wants to wear on Raksha Bandhan." Further, Ranaut argues that an individual's personal choices cannot always be separated from the cultural context in which they are made. She stated, "How can one have such a foolish way of thinking? The aesthetic expression of any civilisation is its festival." In response to the controversy surrounding the campaign's withdrawal, Kangana claimed that the outfit was only a small part of the problem. “The bralette was a very small part, the bigger concern was that the advertisement did not feature several elements traditionally associated with Raksha Bandhan celebrations. Like, where are the parents? Where is the home? There was no halwa, puri, God, tilak, akshat, incense or lamp—nothing,” she said. In the video, she wore an Indo-Western outfit featuring a bralette-style blouse, a cape and a draped skirt. In the ad, she ties a rakhi to her brother and also to her pet dog. The ad soon became the talk of social media, as netizens began pointing out that her outfit was inappropriate for the traditional festival.

The long-running legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has reached another significant chapter, but the latest ruling delivered only a fraction of the legal costs Lively had sought. The ruling follows the dismissal of Baldoni's defamation claims against Lively and comes after the broader dispute was settled in May 2026. Blake Lively awarded in Justin Baldoni legal battle after seeking $8 million US District Judge Lewis J. Liman awarded Lively $407,451.75 in legal fees and costs following her highly publicised legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, as per reports. The amount includes $363,245.40 in attorneys’ fees and $44,206.35 in legal costs, according to the ruling by US District Judge Lewis J. Liman. He also ruled that certain costs—including work connected to media relations—were not recoverable as part of the legal-fee award. Justin Baldoni-Blake Lively legal battle Baldoni's defamation and related claims against Lively were previously dismissed by Judge Liman. The dispute had expanded into multiple legal battles following Lively's allegations, with Baldoni and his legal team strongly disputing her account of events. His allegations against Lively, Reynolds and others were ultimately dismissed, leaving the question of legal costs as one of the remaining issues.
Speaking about being part of the special Onam celebration, Richa Chadha said, “It was a very special feeling to be here in person and celebrate Onam in such a beautiful and culturally rich setting. Being here with my daughter made it even more special. Seeing her enjoy the festivities, colours and traditions felt truly special. We got a special Onam dress made for her for the occasion. Our festivals and traditions are such an integral part of who we are.”

Also Read: Richa Chadha penning a 'love letter' to Mumbai with her new culture series Musafiri

She further continued, “I believe that embracing our culture also means understanding how we can carry these traditions forward with greater compassion, with the aid of technology. There is something beautiful about witnessing a tradition being preserved in a kinder and more thoughtful way of celebrating it.”

Shedding light on the meaning of Onam, the actress said, “Onam is a festival that celebrates togetherness, abundance, gratitude and the spirit of community. Celebrations should always include compassion.”

Also Read: Richa Chadha announces new non-fiction YouTube series - Musafiri

As Chadha donated a life-sized elephant to the temple along with the global organisation, PETA, she said, “Elephants are such magnificent and intelligent beings. These large mammals are highly social, and they deserve to live freely in their natural environment with their own kind. I am truly grateful that this temple and its trustees agreed to this magnificent present. I am sure it will become a local attraction. For me, this was not simply about presenting an elephant to a temple; it was about being part of a cultural celebration, experiencing the warmth of the people, sharing Onam Sadhya with them, and contributing in a small way to something that can have a larger impact.”

Geetu Mohandas' much-awaited action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups finally hit cinemas on August 26, after months of postponements, controversies, and intense online scrutiny. With a glimpse of Yash's striking dual avatar, Kiara Advani's never-seen-before role, and a star-studded cast featuring Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, the film's trailer had built immense anticipation ahead of its release. As the first shows concluded across theatres, moviegoers quickly turned to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions.

Toxic X review

After months of anticipation for Yash's Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, audience reviews of the film are finally out. After watching the first-day-first-show, moviegoers took to X to share their reviews of Geetu Mohandas' film, which is set in post-independence Goa from the 1940s through the 1970s.

One X user left a full-fledged review on the social media platform, which read, "#Toxic A Fairy Tale That Turns Into a Complete Nightmare for Everyone! A technically sound film buried under chaotic writing and exhausting execution. There are barely any proper character introductions, the narrative has no clear flow, and the screenplay gets confusing enough that you’re often left wondering what’s even happening. Dialogue writing is bad, the editing is even worse, and Ravi Basrur’s BGM only makes the experience that much more painful."

It continued, "Yash’s screen presence and a few scenes along with a better-executed climax are the very few positives. This one is hard to sit through. Not even a bad watch, this is a straight-up disaster!"

WION's review of Toxic

According to WION's Shomini Sen, "Toxic tries to be a redemption story, but it gets lost in its own huge scale. There is simply too much of everything—excessive violence, endless screaming, unnecessary sexualization of female characters, and the gimmick of having two Yashs. Instead of making the movie better, all this over-the-top drama just ruins the story. Toxic X review After months of anticipation for Yash's Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, audience reviews of the film are finally out. Dialogue writing is bad, the editing is even worse, and Ravi Basrur’s BGM only makes the experience that much more painful." It continued, "Yash’s screen presence and a few scenes along with a better-executed climax are the very few positives. This one is hard to sit through. Not even a bad watch, this is a straight-up disaster!"

Even though Dolly Parton never set foot in India, her legacy has quietly echoed through Bollywood for decades. But how?

In the West, she is known and loved by millions as the Queen of Country Music. But in India, her timeless tunes have inspired other musicians, leading to creations that made the entire nation groove, even without listeners realizing the original source. So what are these songs?

Dolly Parton's Tune Inspired THESE Bollywood Hits

Parton's classic and career-defining hit ‘Jolene’ made millions groove around the world. While it was never directly translated into Hindi or any Indian language, its melody inspired Bollywood. And not just in one film, but two. According to music database MySwar, her 1973 anthem Jolene inspired two Hindi film songs. Its iconic prelude was sampled in "Ek Raasta Hai Zindagi" from Amitabh Bachchan's Kaala Patthar (1979).

Also read: Did you know? So if you ever loved the tune of these two songs, you were actually grooving to a creation that Dolly Parton made.

What was the inspiration?

The song that went on to become a classic was inspired by a real woman. She was a bank clerk who had a huge crush on Parton's husband, Carl Dean. The story dates back to the early years of their marriage, and Parton admitted she was jealous, which led to the birth of the song.

Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand.''

The story is about the surprising Bollywood connection of Dolly Parton's classic hit Jolene, and how its melody inspired two Hindi film songs, including Amitabh Bachchan's Kaala Patthar track.

Dolly Parton's Tune Inspired THESE Bollywood Hits Parton's classic and career-defining hit ‘Jolene’ made millions groove around the world.
