Tory Lanez’s Wife Raina Chassagne
Raina Nancy Chassagne, wife of hip hop star Tory Lanez, has filed for divorce after less than a year of marriage. Court documents obtained by a publication on Monday(June 10) reveal that Chassagne cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple, who wed on June 25, 2023, separated on June 1, 2024.
As per People magazine, Chassagne is seeking legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old son, Kai’lon.
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Pete) in the feet during a dispute in 2020 in the Hollywood Hills.
Lanez's prison sentence follows a high-profile trial and conviction, during which Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón highlighted Lanez's efforts to intimidate Megan Thee Stallion and suppress her testimony.
“Over the past three years, Mr. Peterson has engaged in a pattern of conduct that was intended to intimidate Ms. Pete and silence her truths from being heard,” Gascón stated in August 2023.

Megan, 29, shared her struggles through a statement read by Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta, expressing the lasting trauma caused by the incident. “I struggle with being present. After everything that occurred, I cannot bring myself back to being in the same room with Tory,” the Houston native wrote. “I’ve been tormented and terrorised.”
Megan also accused Lanez of manipulating public perception and exploiting his past to excuse his actions. “He paid bloggers to disseminate false information, he treated my trauma like a joke when I could’ve been dead,” she asserted. “He blamed the system, he blamed the press, and as of late he is using his childhood trauma to justify his actions.”
The shooting occurred on July 12, 2020, after a dispute involving Lanez, Megan, and her former assistant Kelsey Harris.The tiff started after a pool party at Kylie Jenner's home in Los Angeles.
Lanez was denied bail in September 2023 by Judge David Herriford, who cited the rapper’s history of violating court orders and referred to the shooting as a “violent felony.”
