After Deepika Padukone, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt was featured on the Academy Award's Instagram page. On Thursday, the Academy gave a shout-out to the Raazi actress and her performance in the song ''Ghar More Pardesiya'' from filmmaker Abhishek Varman’s 2019 movie Kalank.

Sharing a dance video of Alia's kathak performance to the melodious song on the official Instagram page, the Academy wrote in the caption, ''Alia Bhatt performing “Ghar More Pardesiya” (vocals by Shreya Ghoshal with Vaishali Mhade) from the film Kalank.

Sung by Shreya Ghoshal with Vaishali Mhade, the song has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty with the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Later, Alia re-shared the post on her Instagram story with different emojis like sun and heart. She tagged producer Karan Johar, her co-stars in the movie Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawan, along with thesinger Shreya Ghoshal among others.

The Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani director, who bankrolled Kalank, also shared the post on his IG handle. He wrote, "The magic and beauty lives on forever..."

The Academy's nod to Indian cinema and Alia's work has left all the netizens impressed.

Commenting on the Academy's post, one user wrote,''Alia bhatt's performance has been spectacular in every movie she's done.''

More About Kalank

Kalank was one of the most-hyped projects upon its release in 2019. However, the movie failed to meet the expectations after the release. Set in the pre-independence era during the time of theIndia and Pakistan partition, the movie tells the tragic love story of three couples. The movie featured Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.

The highly-mounted movie was a huge box office bomb, earning around Rs146.31 crore (Rs 1.46 billion).
