Taylor Swift thanks massive crowds tailgating at Munich concert: 'I feel so...'

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour continues to make waves, drawing in not just concert-goers inside the venue but also thousands of devoted fans outside. On Saturday, July 27, Swift, 34, took the stage at the Olympiastadion for her first of two shows in Munich, and the scene was unforgettable.

Dedicated Swifties were seen tailgating and camping out on the rolling hills just behind the Olympiastadion. Fans packed in tightly along the tall hills in Olympiapark and on the banks of the Nymphenburg Canal, setting up brightly coloured tents to catch a glimpse and hear the sounds of Swift's performance from outside the stadium.

Videos shared on X (formerly Twitter) captured Swift acknowledging the enthusiastic crowd beyond the stadium walls. "We've got people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there!" she exclaimed to the cheering audience. "I just feel so incredibly welcomed, and we're gonna spend all night trying to make it up to you."

During the show, Swift thrilled her fans with a guitar performance of "Fresh Out the Slammer," as a surprise element. She seamlessly incorporated it into a mash-up with her 1989 hit "You Are in Love."

The excitement continued as she moved to the piano for a rendition of "Ivy" from Evermore, paired with "Call It What You Want" from Reputation.

Despite a brief hiccup hitting the right notes, Swift's charm and professionalism shone through as she restarted the song, telling the audience, "Sometimes you just don't hit the right note."

Prior to her Munich performances, Swift played two shows in Hamburg on July 23 and 24. Despite dealing with rainy weather, she embraced the conditions, humorously referring to her "Fuzzy Hair Me" alter-ego in an Instagram post on July 25.

"Hamburg!! I loved those crowds so so so much," Swift wrote. "AND we got a rain show night one, unlocking Fuzzy Hair Me for the evening."

She expressed her delight at the creative crowd traditions unfolding throughout Europe, adding, "Been having a blast watching these new Eras crowd traditions unfold all throughout Europe… You guys are seriously so creative. See you Munich!"

Swift's Germany leg of the tour kicked off with a three-night stint in Gelsenkirchen, the town which temporarily renamed itself "Swiftkirchen" after a fan petitioned the mayor.

Following her shows in Munich, Swift will head to Warsaw, Poland, for two nights in early August. The European leg of her record-breaking world tour will conclude with five nights in London.
