Netizens angry over PM Modi's meeting with all-male Bollywood delegation
Photos of the meet were shared on social media by the PM and Karan Johar.
A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors met with Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday to discuss several issues being faced by the entertainment industry. Among many others, producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar, Sidharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwwala, Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) were part of the delegation.
Actors like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn were also spotted with Modi during the discussion.
Modi took to his official Twitter handle and shared a photo of the meet and wrote: "Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry.The delegation spoke about the strides being made by the film and entertainment industry and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector. https://nm4.in/2PJUEHa."
While the agenda of the meeting was appreciated by one and all, many Twitter users, however, felt that the gender representation in the meeting was skewed. The delegation included not one woman producer, director or actor.
Filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava ('Lipstick Under My Burkha') pointed this out and tweeted: "Would be great to have female representation in these delegations. It is 2018."
