New Delhi
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has named actress Jacqueline Fernandez the 'Most Beautiful Vegetarian Celebrity'. Known for her roles in many Bollywood hits, the actress has long been an advocate for animal rights and a supporter of a vegetarian lifestyle.
She expressed her gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I am thrilled to receive this honour. Being a vegetarian is not just about personal health; it’s about making a positive impact on our planet and its inhabitants.”
Fernandez openly advocates for her vegetarian lifestyle, frequently showing her preferred vegetarian dishes and encouraging plant-based nutrition via her social media accounts. She uses her online presence to show the benefits of a meat-free diet and share culinary inspiration with her followers.
Acting to animal rights activism
"From acting to animal rights activism, Jacqueline Fernandez and Riteish Deshmukh have proven to be real superstars,” says PETA India Vice President of Celebrity and Public Relations Sachin Bangera. He added that PETA India is delighted to honour them for showing the world that kindness to animals is the most beautiful quality of all.
Her involvement in the #FreeGajraj initiative resulted in the liberation of an elephant that had been in chains for over five decades. The actress is a strong supporter of shelter dog adoption and plant-based diets. She has also participated in campaigns opposing the use of Angora wool and horse-drawn carriages.
Upcoming projects
Recently, Fernandez made her Hollywood entry with a role in Kill 'Em All 2. She has been engaged in a month-long filming schedule in London for the much-awaited comedy sequel, Housefull 5.
