Recently, avideo has been widely shared on social media, showinga group of underprivileged children from a slum in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh statein north India. These kids recreated a bridal campaign inspired by the iconic designs of renowned fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
The video, shared by the Lucknow-based non-governmental organization (NGO) Innovation For Change, shows thecreativity of these kids as they craft bridal ensembles that are inspired by Sabyasachi's signature aesthetic. The result just did not amaze the internet but also left the designer in awe of them.
Sabyasachi, known for his exquisite bridal collections, recently posted a video on Instagram showcasing his 'Heritage Bridal' line, where he emphasized that the colour red is not just seasonal but truly iconic. Inspired by this theme, the group of underprivileged kidsfrom aLucknow slum recreated the looks, using donated clothes.

Innovation For Change revealed that the entire video was filmed by 15-year-olds who were eager to develop their camera skills. Moreover, every red dress featured in the video was designed and modeled by girls aged 12 to 17.

"These children come from extremely poor and struggling families. Using their creativity, they carefully select and repurpose clothes donated by locals and neighbours to create designer-inspired outfits. After seeing a recent @sabyasachi video, they felt inspired to try something similar," Innovation For Change stated in a comment on their post.

The designer acknowledged the efforts of these kids, reposted the video onhis social media and called them a “winner”. ActressAditi Rao Hydarialso dropped a red heart emoji in appreciation.
One user wrote, "This is called art...," while another said it as "the best example of being inclusive."A person also commented, "This is the best thing I've seen in a long time".
