Jenna Ortega refutes outrageous secret romance rumour with Johnny Depp: 'Ridiculous'

Jenna Ortega is setting the record straight once and for all. The actress recently opened up about the craziest rumour she has heard about herself. Like many of her fans, she thinks that the outrageous secret romance rumours with Johnny Depp should get the first spot.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Ortega said, "Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp, and I wanted everybody to leave us alone."

"It's so insane to me. Like, I never spoke on that. I never said anything like that. Articles really do just make up their own quotes, but I thought that that was pretty hilarious," Ortega added.

During the interaction, the actress also revealed that her co-star Richard E Grant believed the baseless rumours. "I was on set with Richard E. Grant, and he came up to me and he just said, ‘Oh, so you and Johnny?’ And I laughed because I… I don’t know that person,” she explained.

The rumours of Ortega and Depp's secret romance spread like wildfire last summer when celebrity gossip account Deux Moi reported that the two were out on a date.

At the time, Depp's reps issued a statement, which read, "Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her. He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career."

BTW... Ortega also revealed her first celebrity crush during the interview. She said, "I always say my first crush was Barack Obama — it was — it was during his first election, and I was smitten."
