I Am Legend 2 is happening after much to and fro.
First announced in March 2022, there hasn’t been any update on the film since but finally, there is some news on the project.
The Will Smith starrer's first instalment was a massive hit as it explored a post-apocalyptic world where a zombie virus kills all of humankind and infects the world as we know barring a few survivors until one person is able to find the cure to the virus.
The 2007 film will now soon get a sequel.
The film’s sequel was announced by scribe and producer Akiva Goldsman who promises “there will be some good news shortly.”
I Am Legend 2 is yet to get a director. The first film had Francis Lawrence on board as the helmer.

On whether Will’s character got to live, Akiva said, “We’re sequelising the alternative cut where Will lives and things don’t go well for humanity.”
The sequel will see Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan starring in leading roles. Their respective studios, Westbrook and Outlier Society will produce at Warner Bros.
Akiva teased on I Am Legend 2: “The world returns in a way that is kind of spectacular – an exciting playground for all of us – not your father’s I Am Legend.”
The announcement was made by Akiva Goldsman at the Producing Panel at Comic-Con.
