Several crew members were injured on the set of The Pickup over the weekend while filming was going on. Multiple people were confirmed hurt while they shot the feature film in Georgia.
The film is an action-led drama and at the time, they were shooting an action sequence. A studio spokesperson while detailing what happened said, “Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured as a result.”
The Amazon Studios’ The Pickup stars Eddie Murphy in the leading role. The actor wasn’t involved in the unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile, reports from the set suggest that a truck “locked up” and crashed unexpectedly into a car. As it happened, two people were hospitalised and their injuries ranged from bruises to broken bones.
The Pickup also stars Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson. Neither of the three actors were on set at the time of the accident.

Studio starts internal investigation
Amazon Studios has started an internal investigation into the matter. The spokesperson said, “We are still in the process of gathering facts on what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering. The well-being of the entire crew and cast is our first priority, and we will continue to insist on the highest industry standards of safety while filming. All safety precautions were reviewed prior to and monitored during the shoot.”
The crew union also added, “IATSE is aware of an accident that took place on the Georgia set of ‘The Pickup’ and has started an inquiry.”
The Pickup was being filmed at the Shadowbox Studios in Georgia.
