Marvel’s latest offering ‘Captain Marvel’ starring Brie Larson as the female superhero may not see the light of the day in Pakistan as news reports suggest that the film has had a delayed release because it won’t be coming out after all.

Taking to Facebook, Pakistan’s Cinepax Cinemas issued a statement revealing that Disney’s regional office did not give their country the rights to run the film. They did not add anything further.

While some fans cried foul over the news accusing the regional office based in India behind the move due to the continued tensions between the two nations, reports also suggest that it is because of an apparent fee issue.

The film, meanwhile, has already earned $500 million in just 5 days of its release and boasts of the sixth-best worldwide start of all time with $455 million. It is the first female-led superhero that has achieved this feat. Read the review here.
