The new season will have more gowns, ball rooms, dancing, regency-era flirting as Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha will play Benedict and Sophie. They will lead their fellow cast members Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton in the new instalment.
Yerin Ha is an Australian-Korean actress Ha who was cast as the second half of “Benophie”. The announcement was made earlier this month.
Benophie’s romance will lead the new instalment as Benedict plays the second-eldest Bridgerton brother who hates the idea of settling down. But that is until he meets Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.
Bridgerton season three aired this summer and was led by Coughlan and Newton.
As for when fans can expect Bridgerton season 4, showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter in June that it’ll be a two-year wait before they are ready with it: “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” she said. “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”
Bridgerton is adapted from Julia Quinn’s books and is produced by Shonda Rhimes‘ master company Shondaland. It stars Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell.
