But, it became more highlighted after the filmmaker took to &nbsp;X and accused a celebrity of leaking certain aspects of the film. He stated, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But, by doing this, you've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are...Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?".</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>He further wrote, "As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft &amp; for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it". The other demands made by Deepika Padukone irked Sandeep Reddy Vanga. As per reports, Deepika allegedly requested an 8-hour workday, which translates to only 6 hours of actual shoot time. She also demanded a hefty fee of Rs 20 crore for her role and a percentage of her film's profits. She even refused to deliver her dialogues in Telugu.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>For <i>Kalki 2 </i>too Deepika Padukone asked for the same demand of shorter working hours due to which there are rumours floating that makers are considering removing her from the film entirely.</p>

<p>Ektaa Kapoor is celebrating her 50th birthday today, and Smriti Irani wrote a heartfelt note thanking her for years of support and wishing her well for the future. The duo famously worked together on the hit TV show<i> Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.</i></p><h2>The legacy of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi</h2><p><i>Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi</i> was one of the longest-running and most popular Indian TV shows. Ektaa Kapoor produced the show, and Smriti Irani played the now iconic role of Tulsi, the lead character. Smriti’s powerful performance and Ektaa’s storytelling made both the show and the actress household names.</p><h2>Smriti Irani’s heartfelt Instagram tribute</h2><p>Taking to Instagram, Smriti Irani shared a never-before-seen picture of the two of them and wrote:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"That night, we walked — from the quiet lanes of Juhu to the sacred steps of Siddhivinayak. Not in celebration, but in surrender. She had made a silent vow when I was chasing a dream — a prayer not for herself, but for me. And when the dream turned real, when the world clapped — she didn’t call to revel in the applause. She reminded me: We owe Bappa our thanks. Gratitude walks before pride in her world."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"The world knows her as fierce — a woman of will, words, and unwavering resolve. But I have known her silences; the softness that doesn’t seek attention, the care that doesn’t need credit. She is the quiet strength behind many journeys, the keeper of promises no one else hears. Today, she turns 50. A milestone many will raise a toast to."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"But in the hush of this day, I whisper a prayer — May peace wrap itself around her like a shawl on a weary evening. May success find her, not because she chases it, but because she gives so much of herself away. She deserves both. And so much more. Happy Birthday EK," she concluded.</p>

<h2>A reboot is in the works</h2><p>A reboot of <i>Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi</i> is currently in development, with Smriti Irani and the rest of the original cast reprising their roles.</p>

Ektaa Kapoor is celebrating her 50th birthday today, and Smriti Irani wrote a heartfelt note thanking her for years of support and wishing her well for the future.

Ektaa Kapoor is celebrating her 50th birthday today, and Smriti Irani wrote a heartfelt note thanking her for years of support and wishing her well for the future. The duo famously worked together on the hit TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The legacy of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was one of the longest-running and most popular Indian TV shows. Ektaa Kapoor produced the show, and Smriti Irani played the now iconic role of Tulsi, the lead character. Smriti’s powerful performance and Ektaa’s storytelling made both the show and the actress household names. Smriti Irani’s heartfelt Instagram tribute Taking to Instagram, Smriti Irani shared a never-before-seen picture of the two of them and wrote: "That night, we walked — from the quiet lanes of Juhu to the sacred steps of Siddhivinayak. Not in celebration, but in surrender. She had made a silent vow when I was chasing a dream — a prayer not for herself, but for me. And when the dream turned real, when the world clapped — she didn’t call to revel in the applause. She reminded me: We owe Bappa our thanks. Gratitude walks before pride in her world." "The world knows her as fierce — a woman of will, words, and unwavering resolve. But I have known her silences; the softness that doesn’t seek attention, the care that doesn’t need credit. She is the quiet strength behind many journeys, the keeper of promises no one else hears. Today, she turns 50. A milestone many will raise a toast to." "But in the hush of this day, I whisper a prayer — May peace wrap itself around her like a shawl on a weary evening. May success find her, not because she chases it, but because she gives so much of herself away. She deserves both. And so much more. Happy Birthday EK," she concluded.

<p>The song <i>"Laal Pari"</i> is probably the only thing you’ll find yourself humming after watching this week's big Bollywood release<i> Housefull 5</i>. Akshay Kumar leads this no-brainer, which features a luxury yacht, pretty faces, beautiful women, and standout outfits.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>For me, the beauty of this comedy franchise is that it never made any sense, yet I still enjoyed the first few parts - the characters, the dialogues. However, the fourth instalment - unarguably the most torturous one, which we got almost six years ago (remember Bala, Bala?), is still the worst. That said, compared to part 4, this one is quite passable.<br>&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Plot? What does that even mean?</strong></h2><p><br>When it comes to writing about the <i>Housefull 5</i> plot, a five-minute silence, please. Hmmm... so the story starts with a murder. Cut! We see a luxury yacht in the deep blue sea. Cut again! We’re introduced to the soul of the franchise, actor Ranjeet, playing business tycoon Ranjeet Dobriyal, a lusty and perverted old man, celebrating his 100th birthday. Unfortunately, he dies, leaving behind a will that goes to his mysterious son Jolly, owner of billions of pounds.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Next, we see three Jollys- one is Akshay Kumar, the second is Riteish Deshmukh, and the third is Abhishek Bachchan. Three jolly arrive with three gorgeous ladies - Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa and Nargis Fakhri.</p><p><br>While everyone is busy finding who is the real Jolly is, they have another thing to handle - a murder. So, now the story shifts to find out who the killer is? And, then the plot sticks to this.</p><h2><br><strong>Where is the fun?</strong></h2><p><br>Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who has co-written the script with Farhad Samji, this movie has a house full of stars, roaming here and there, all dressed up for a fancy dress party. The case with this movie is that I didn't feel anything, I did not laugh hard, only smiled. Looked at fellow members of the audience, wondered if they felt the same as I, and then watched the movie in between.</p><p><br>When it comes to the plot, I felt it was written after watching many Hollywood films. Cut, copy, change a bit and <i>tadaaa</i>!, we have a story of the movie starring prominent names of Bollywood. The film comes at a time when Bollywood is going through a tough period, with the audience being least interested in stepping into the theatres. And when they do, they get movies like<i> Housefull 5.</i></p><h2><strong>Are stars enough to save the film?</strong></h2><p><br>The movie is heavy on stars. Led by Akshay, the film has Riteish, Abhishek, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer and Johnny Lever.&nbsp;Yet none of them are able to salvage this film.&nbsp;</p><h2><br><strong>Are these stars enough?</strong><br>&nbsp;</h2><p>When it comes to comedy, Akshay and Johnny Lever do their job well. Their comic timing, expressions, and actions manage to make even the cringiest scenes entertaining. Same with Riteish, who has played such roles in too many films now and is comfortable in this genre. However, the others - Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt - are reduced to caricatures. I honestly don’t know what fun they had playing these roles.</p><h2><br><strong>Watch it or skip it?</strong><br>&nbsp;</h2><p>The <i>Housefull </i>franchise has always demanded to be watched without using one's brain. &nbsp;I had so many issues with the movie. But, when you bring together a huge team of actors, creatives, writers, and directors, and give them all the best resources, the result should be at least a passable film. This film is not an out-and-out comedy, but a disappointment in this genre.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>The movie has been released in two versions - Part A and Part B. &nbsp;I watched Part A.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Still from the movie

<p>Shroff and Dutt's cartoonish performance in the movie was heartbreaking. Also, I missed the ladies as they didn't have much role, except looking fantastic, dressing outstanding, but barely spoke.</p><h2><strong>Is vulgarity the new comedy?</strong></h2><p><br>By vulgarity, I mean the double-meaning, crass dialogues, the one-liners that fail to deliver genuine laughs. A few scenes in the movie were not funny at all, and the women were all hypersexualised. Many would argue that such a thing comes with a comedy as a genre, but sexism in <i>Housefull 5 </i>is of an unbearable level.&nbsp;</p><p><br>A character in the film is called Lucy, who is ogled at for her cleavage, and in a scene, even her skirt. Another scene features Jacqueline, Sonam, and Nargis in an AC duct, where the camera zooms in on their bodies, as if there was nothing else to show.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At a time when Bollywood needs desperately to recalibrate, fa ilm like <i>Housefull 5</i> takes the entire industry 10 steps backward. Housefull 5 has released in theatres on June 6.&nbsp;</p>

That said, compared to part 4, this one is quite passable. Plot? What does that even mean? When it comes to writing about the Housefull 5 plot, a five-minute silence, please. Hmmm... so the story starts with a murder. Cut! We see a luxury yacht in the deep blue sea. Cut again! We’re introduced to the soul of the franchise, actor Ranjeet, playing business tycoon Ranjeet Dobriyal, a lusty and perverted old man, celebrating his 100th birthday. Unfortunately, he dies, leaving behind a will that goes to his mysterious son Jolly, owner of billions of pounds. Next, we see three Jollys- one is Akshay Kumar, the second is Riteish Deshmukh, and the third is Abhishek Bachchan. Three jolly arrive with three gorgeous ladies - Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa and Nargis Fakhri. While everyone is busy finding who is the real Jolly is, they have another thing to handle - a murder. So, now the story shifts to find out who the killer is? And, then the plot sticks to this. Where is the fun? Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who has co-written the script with Farhad Samji, this movie has a house full of stars, roaming here and there, all dressed up for a fancy dress party. The case with this movie is that I didn't feel anything, I did not laugh hard, only smiled. Looked at fellow members of the audience, wondered if they felt the same as I, and then watched the movie in between. When it comes to the plot, I felt it was written after watching many Hollywood films. Cut, copy, change a bit and tadaaa!, we have a story of the movie starring prominent names of Bollywood. The film comes at a time when Bollywood is going through a tough period, with the audience being least interested in stepping into the theatres. And when they do, they get movies like Housefull 5. Are stars enough to save the film? The movie is heavy on stars. Led by Akshay, the film has Riteish, Abhishek, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer and Johnny Lever. Yet none of them are able to salvage this film. Are these stars enough? When it comes to comedy, Akshay and Johnny Lever do their job well. I honestly don’t know what fun they had playing these roles. Watch it or skip it? The Housefull franchise has always demanded to be watched without using one's brain. I had so many issues with the movie. But, when you bring together a huge team of actors, creatives, writers, and directors, and give them all the best resources, the result should be at least a passable film. This film is not an out-and-out comedy, but a disappointment in this genre. The movie has been released in two versions - Part A and Part B. I watched Part A.

The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at 15 locations in Mumbai and Kochi on Friday in the Mithi River Desilting case, including at Bollywood actor Dino Morea's home. The raid comes days after the actor appeared before the Mumbai Police for questioning in a corruption case. His brother was also questioned by the officials. The raids were carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at locations linked to contractors and officials suspected of embezzlement in the desilting operations of the Mithi River. The case involves accusations of alleged inflated bills, fake work logs, and systematic diversion of public funds sanctioned for flood prevention and drainage maintenance in Mumbai. The Mithi River, a critical drainage artery in Mumbai, drew national attention after the catastrophic 2005 floods. In response, the BMC and other civic agencies initiated regular desilting and cleaning operations to prevent future flooding. However, audits and investigations by agencies in recent years exposed glaring discrepancies in the actual versus reported desilting work, raising serious concerns about corruption. Earlier inquiries by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had flagged possible financial misconduct. The ED stepped in after taking cognizance of these reports and registered a money laundering case to trace the proceeds of crime. Sources within the agency revealed that financial documents, electronic devices, and transaction records are being seized during the searches. The ED suspects that a network of contractors and middlemen submitted fraudulent work completion reports and siphoned off funds meant for critical infrastructure development. This case adds to the growing list of alleged financial irregularities being investigated in connection with civic infrastructure works in Mumbai, sparking renewed calls for accountability and systemic reforms in the functioning of local bodies.
