The producers of Kalki 2898 AD are giving a big update on the second part of the sci-fi thriller. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the first part of the movie starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan was released worldwide on June 27 and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films.

The first part of the movie was one of the most-anticipated projects and took around three years to make. However, it seems like, the makers are not going to make the audience wait much for the second part.

Update on Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 

Months after the staggering box office success, the producers of the movie Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt have given an update on the second instalment of the franchise.

In an interview with News18, Priyanka said that the filming of part 2 will begin in 2025. 

“The filming will start in the next five or six months (January or February 2025). Once it starts, we’ll be able to talk more about it,” Priyanka said. 

However, after the success of the first part, the siblings are less worried this time. Spilling more beans, Swapna said, “This time around, there’s a lot more excitement than nervousness. I think there will be a lot more planning now. Whatever we did for part one, we were all just going by Nag Ashwin’s vision.''

''It often happens that you don’t understand most of the things until you actually see the visuals. Now that we’ve seen everything that Nagi has done and understood the way the audience has received it, we’re going on to part two with an altogether different energy," she added.

The sequel to Kalki 2898 AD will focus on Kamal Haasan's character of Supreme Yaskin.

Filmmaker Nag Ashwin's movie turned out to be the biggest movie of the year. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the audience and critics, the movie grossed over Rs 1 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film and the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2024.
