Ben Affleck buys new estate in LA amid divorce rumours with Jennifer Lopez

Ben Affleck has taken a significant step toward ending his marriage with Jennifer Lopez by purchasing a new multi-million dollar estate in Los Angeles, according to reports.

Affleck recently closed escrow on a Pacific Palisades mansion for $20.5 million, according to TMZ. This luxurious residence boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, breakfast and dining areas, a separate family room, a den, walk-in closets, a media room, a powder room, and a guest house, among other features.

It was previously reported that Ben and Jennifer quietly attempted to sell their Beverly Hills marital home in June. However, with no immediate buyers, the couple officially put the property on the market on July 11 for $68 million.

They had purchased the property just last year for approximately $61 million. Given the costs associated with the LAmansion tax, real estate commissions, and several million in renovations, breaking even on this sale seems unlikely.

Meanwhile, TMZ also reported that Jennifer Lopez is actively searching for a house of her own. The couple has reportedly been separated since May, and Affleck has already moved all his belongings out of their Beverly Hills home.

In February, Lopez spoke about their reunion and July 2022 marriage on Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Radio Show. “I fell in love with the love of my life [earlier in life] and for whatever reasons, we needed to grow and do other things,” she said. “We both went off and had children with other people and other relationships, but you know in my mind I kind of had it like, ‘Oh, that was kind of the one.’”
