New Delhi, India

The first Test between West Indies and South Africa ended in a draw, at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Sunday (Aug 11). The two-match Test series opener was a riveting affair where Temba Bavuma-led Proteas set a challenging 298-run target on the final day as Kraigg Brathwaite-led Windies ended at 201-5. The rain did enough damage in the opening Test to not allow a result in the contest, however, it showed a lot of fight from both teams. While South Africa had a healthy lead in the first innings, the home side showed better intent with the bat in the run-chase before both sides decided to end the game on the final day, due to light.
