Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player and assistant coach Dwayne Bravo posted an emotional video upon his departure from the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. Bravo has now joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as mentor, replacing Gautam Gambhir who took on India head coach job after guiding KKR to title in 2024.
After the move, Bravo shared a video, thanking CSK fans and franchise and asked for support in future.
“This is the champion. It’s no secret now; the news is out that I have accepted a deal to be the mentor for the Knight Riders franchise. I just want to take this time to give a special mention and a special thank you to the CSK management team for giving me their blessings to move on to do something that I’m really passionate about. My fans in Chennai and to all the CSK fans around the world, I call on you to give me your blessings and support as you always do. I know this is a sad moment for you guys, but it’s one that I encourage you to continue to support me in everything that I do. Lots of love, yellove, all the time. See you guys soon. See you on the other side,” said Bravo in the video.
Bravo recently retired from T20s, playing his last game in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for Trinbago Knight Riders (KR).
During his illustrious career, Bravo has been a huge name in T20s. He has played 582 T20 games, claiming 631 wickets, and scored close to 7,000 runs. With more championship wins than any other cricketer, Bravo's experience will surely help the Kolkata camp.
Bravo will not only mentor KKR but other Knight Riders franchise in other leagues including CPL, Major League Cricket (MLC) in USA and ILT20.
