Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja created history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8. The all-rounder is one of the most successful IPL players with 4,622 runs and 156 wickets to his name. He has been part of the league since its inception in 2008 and has played for four franchises over the years. Apart from CSK, Jadeja has been a part of Rajasthan Royals and now-defunct franchises Gujarat Lions and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
As for the match against KKR, Jadeja did well with the ball, returning with figures of 3/18 in four overs. He took all three wickets in his first two overs which brought KKR from 56/1 in 6 overs to 64/4 in 8.2 overs. The all-rounder also took two catches and was aptly adjudged Player of the Match for his performance.
Thanks to his quick wickets, KKR could score just 137/9 in 20 overs despite having an above-par powerplay.
Chasing the total, CSK were never in trouble as they reached the target in 17.4 overs with seven wickets in hand. For Chennai, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad eventually hit form and top-scored with an unbeaten 67 off 58 balls. With the win, CSK remain unbeaten at home so far in the three games they have played.
As for KKR, this was their first loss of the season after winning three matches on the trot.
