Inglis played a match-winning knock, scoring 120* off just 86 balls, laced with eight fours and six sixes. He was well supported by Matthew Short (63), Alex Carey (69), and Marnus Labuschagne (47), as Australia comfortably chased down England’s imposing total of 351/8 with 15 balls to spare.

Earlier, England’s innings was anchored by a stunning 165 from opener Ben Duckett—the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history. His 143-ball masterclass featured 17 fours and three sixes. Joe Root (68) provided solid support, helping England post a formidable total after being asked to bat first.

Phil Salt’s brisk start was cut short by Ben Dwarshuis in the second over, courtesy of a sharp catch by Alex Carey. Jamie Smith showed promise but fell early, leaving England unsettled. Root, ending a streak of 11 ODIs without a fifty against Australia, looked in fine touch before falling to Adam Zampa in the 31st over.

Australia’s bowlers had mixed returns, with Dwarshuis leading the attack (3/66), while Zampa (2/64) and Labuschagne (2/41) chipped in.
