Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday announced Operation Green for promoting farmer produce organisations.
While announcing the Budget, 2018, Jaitley allocated Rs 500 crore for the same.
He also allotted Rs 2,000 crore to improve the agriculture sector.
"Agri-Market Development Fund with a corpus of 2000 crore to be set up for developing agricultural markets," Jaitley said.
Jaitley said their focus is on low-cost farming and higher MSP.
He said their government's aim is to generate farm and non-farm employment for farmers.
