What is unique about the first Mahindra Thar Roxx which is to be auctioned?

Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday announced that the first-ever unit of the Thar Roxx five-door SUV will be auctioned for charity. The carmaker has already opened the auction registrations with the bidding beginning on 15 September at 5 pm IST and culminating on 16 September 7 pm IST. The proceeds from the highest bid will be donated to a social cause, with Mahindra matching the winning bid to further amplify the impact.

Mahindra Thar Roxx special attributes:
The first Thar Roxx bears the distinguished VIN 0001 which features a badge bearing Anand Mahindra’s signature. It has attained the status of a collectible item, making the hearts of the enthusiasts race. The rare piece is in the AX7L Diesel Automatic 4x4 variant and the winner gets to choose the colour of their choice.

Mahindra Thar Roxx auction:
The online auction is being conducted by Mahindra First Choice Wheels (MFCW) and hosted on the carandbike.com auction platform. Online registrations are open to everyone and prospective bidders will be required to submit a refundable caution deposit. Moreover, the entire bidding process will be overseen by Ernst & Young.

Mahindra Thar Roxx auction money:
The proceeds from the auction of Mahindra Thar may be donated to any recognised not-for-profit organization of the winner’s choice. Alternatively, the winner will also be given the choice of choosing one of the following not-for-profit organizations: Naandi Foundation (Empowering Girls and Women), BAIF Development Research Foundation (Watershed and Rural Livelihood Development), Watershed Organization Trust (Integrated Water Resource Management and Agriculture), or UNITED WAY MUMBAI (Promoting Road Safety).

Mahindra Thar Roxx bookings and delivery:
Mahindra launched the Thar Roxx SUV on August 15 at a starting price of INR 12.99 lakh. It is built on the company's all-new M_GLYDE platform that offers smooth ride with crisp handling while effortlessly blending Thar’s outdoor DNA with modern sophistication. Bookings for the SUV will open online and at Mahindra dealerships from October 3, 2024 while test drives will start from September 14. Deliveries of the vehicle will commence from Dussehra.
